DJ X-Plosiv has been behind the decks since 1989 and is considered one of the true pioneers of the Basel trance scene. From the very beginnings of trance music, he has been deeply passionate about the sound and has helped shape the region’s electronic music culture ever since. After taking a few years off, he returned to the stage in recent years — re-energized and connecting with a new generation of ravers through his powerful and uplifting sets.
Over the decades, DJ X-Plosiv has held numerous resident DJ positions at iconic clubs such as Utopia, Tower/Bell, Galeria, and Place, as well as for promoters like BFT Music and Friends of Trance. His journey has taken him through countless legendary venues including Stahlwerk, Borderline, Online, Alte Kaserne, Sektor11, Stufenbau (Gate One), Alcatraz, Parterre One, Kupferschmiede, Arena, Sommercasino, Terminus, and many more.
He has also performed at major raves and festivals such as Nautilus, Watergate 4 (Munich), Hyper Space 1 & 2, Future Dreams, and appeared at numerous parades and open-air events, including the Street Parade (1998–2002), Union Move Munich, Frick Parade, and the Street Parade Radio 105 Mainstage.
Many trance fans will also remember DJ X-Plosiv from his long-running Radio X show “TranceXpress”, which he hosted and curated for several years. In November 2022, he returned to his roots as part of the “Elektrobeats” team — the successor show to TranceXpress — where he now presents a monthly program featuring his signature trance selections and guest DJ sets.
As a producer, DJ X-Plosiv has released music on several labels, including Think Trance, TSOE, Faro, Euromas Rec., Mas Rec. and MBros Rec. He has also released a mix CD on TBA Records and most recently released his new single ‘Friends of Trance’ together with DJ Spaceman on Redux Magic on 14 November 2025.
DJ X-Plosiv represents the pure spirit of trance — timeless, energetic, and heartfelt. Regularly performing on stage and on air, he continues to inspire both long-time fans and new listeners alike with his deep connection to the music and the culture that shaped him.
