Markus Dubach, better known by his stage name Cube, found his way into the world of music through hip-hop in the mid-1990s. His passion for DJing was quickly ignited, but it was a chance encounter with DJ Diablo that would reshape his musical path. DJ Diablo, who was active as a trance DJ at the time, spontaneously took Markus to a trance party—an experience that changed everything. The diversity of the music and the strong sense of community left a lasting impression on him.

 

From that moment on, Cube devoted all his energy to trance music. His first performances followed in 1998 at Budway in Thun, where he demonstrated his flair for moods and musical dynamics with energetic sets. He quickly caught the attention of the local scene, which led to further bookings – including at the legendary Selve-Areal Thun. There he played regularly at popular clubs such as Nachtwerk, Basis, Orvis, Bluedome, and Paradise, as well as at the Thun city center festival. His name also became known outside of Thun. Performances at Colosseso Münsingen underscored his growing popularity on the regional scene.

From 2006 to 2020, Cube took a conscious break to devote himself to his family.

 

But the longing for trance music remained – deeply rooted within him. In 2020, he returned to his roots: to the mixing desk, to the turntables, to music.
